Welcome to csaharvestrecipes.com. We hope that these suggestions for cooking your vegetable shares from ZJ Farm Community Supported Agriculture will be helpful.

Some vegetables are unfamiliar and some have been relegated to a certain status on the table. Both these things can limit your enjoyment and consumption of the vegetable. So think of these "recipes" as a springboard to launch you into trying new combinations and ways of cooking vegetables (or not cooking them!).

We have allowed our menu-planning to think of having one vegetable per meal. Hopefully you will begin to think of vegetables as something you can include in many dishes to be enjoyed throughout your day.

Do try a few unusual sounding things at least once. The cooked red radishes are amazing! Cold soups may be new to you but they are great in hot weather. Raw kale salad truly works and is delicious. Grill or saute asparagus and you may never steam them again.

Some things in the vegetable world never change, like eating a fresh tomato, still warm from the sun. Just eaten like an apple or sliced onto bread with a little mayonnaise.

Your vegetable shares will allow you to enjoy vegetables with a freshness unparalleled in any grocery store. They will have been picked a matter of hours before you receive them.

So enjoy those wonderful gifts - vegetables fresh from the farm - in their endless variety. Explore new dishes but enjoy the favorites. Life is good!
